Mikan Turns 15

 

You're growing up so quickly. It's truly incredible to wrap my head around the fact that you'll be in college in a few years. Your first year of high school is going great. You got all As first semester and you are even taking a college class (Computer Programming). You seem to really like high school and attending as many athletic events as you can (mostly basketball games). You joined the Academic Science Superbowl Team and just started Unified Track. You are going to throw the shot put as well as run several track events. Your first meet is coming up after Spring Break and we are all excited to watch you. You seem to really like the practices and have made a lot of friends.

You still like computer programming and have learned a lot this year. You even said you were thinking about teaching people programming over the summer, maybe offering private lessons. You are also looking for a summer job and have applied at Culvers and St. Pius. It's great to see you interested in taking on more responsibility and learning how to be independent in a variety of ways. 

You also attended your first high school dance (Snowball), which was a success, I think? Look how handsome you are.

You and your siblings have been spoiled this year and have attended MANY NBA games (with 2 more still in the books over Spring Break). You've gone to several Pacers games and took a friend, Grant Bennett with you to one of them. Your favorite players this year are Benedict Mathurin (a rookie) and Tyrese Haliburton. You also like the Kings this year, and repeatedly remind us that you hate the Warriors. We went to a Warriors/Pacers game in December and saw Steph Curry light it up from downtown. Uncle Jar got you tickets to a Pacers/Suns game for Christmas and you got to sit closer than we usually do.

We are really proud of everything you are doing right now and your positive attitude and work ethic. I'm excited to see what high school life has in store for you.
